Chhattisgarh in Pre-vedic age
* There is no clear information about Chhattisgarh in the pre –Vedic period . * In Rigveda- or Rigveda period ,the Aryans were limited to only Punjab area. So, Rigveda does not say anything about C.G.
Chhattisgarh in Post Vedic Age
* Aryans came to Chhattisgarh in post Vedic age. * The sources like Ramayana, Mahabharat and Pusana tells about Chhattisgarh in detail.
(1) Kaushitki upnishad has mentioned the Vindhyachal Mountain.
(2) Narmada River was called Reva River during that period.
* In purana – it is written that this region was ruled by kings of Ikshavaku dynasty.
* This region was also occupied by vintashwa, the grandson of Manu Vaivashvat the very first king in the history.
